It seemed almost comical now, the way they’d let these years slip by. Maybe it was good, though, because they were both more mature now, ready for a commitment.

Mac emerged wearing nothing but a towel. With his splendid, squeaky-clean body, she could almost imagine him as that ancient prince. But Mac was better looking in her opinion, warmer in his features. Plus, he was her man and that made her justifiably biased. Of all men on the planet, he was the only one who’d ever been able to make her wet with just a look.

Even now, she was ready. Could he smell her fragrance? The soft scent of her womanhood mixed with the perfume?

“You’re so beautiful,” he said, his eyes moist with need.

Min had never seen a sight so beautiful herself. “Mac,” she whispered, as he crawled into bed on top of her. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” he murmured. “My little priestess.”

She sighed happily as his hand undid the sash of her robe. Everything was possible, every form of loving between them, endless varieties, for the rest of their lives. For now, she wanted him to sink between her parted thighs.

“No one else has ever been here, you know. I meant it when I told you that.”

He shuddered at the sensation, not to mention the comment. “I wouldn’t care if they had,” he teased her. “But I would be lying if I said my male ego wasn’t gratified just a little.”

“Hmmph. Typical male double standard. You’ve had other women and that’s not supposed to bother me…”

“I’ve slept with others,” he acknowledged. “But I tried to make every one of them into you.”

She clung to him, exhaling with his sweet confession. “You’re so wonderful, Mac. Tell me I’ll never live without you again.”

“Don’t ask questions,” he teased, “which have no empirical answers.”

She grabbed his taut buttock pinching it. “Does that feel empirical enough for you?”

“Yes,” he growled, thrusting hard and fast. “It does.”

There was no more talking after that. Only loving, the interplay of bodies, the trading of desires, the ultimate consummation—hand in glove, his body in hers, her spirit in his. Their sexes joined, their hearts were one.

A truth written in stone. A reality that would outlast any monument, any city and any ruler.

  About the Author

Reese Gabriel is a born romantic with a taste for the edgier side of love. Having traveled the world and sampled many of the finer things, Reese now enjoys the greater simplicities; barefoot walks by the ocean, kisses under moonlight and whispers of passion in the darkness with that one special person.

Preferring to remain behind the scenes, cherished by a precious few, Reese hopes to awaken in the lives of many the possibilities of true love through stories of far off places and enchanted lives.

For the sake of love and hope and imagination, these stories are told. May they be enjoyed as much in the reading of them as in the writing.
